down to our children

In this work there will be some errors in the spelling of names
because in early days many people could neither read nor write. They
were dependent upon census takers and writers of other documents to
spell their names as they thought they should be spelled. Not all are
recorded the same. The information later than 1910 contained herein
comes from the living memories of family correspondents, not all of
whom gave the same spelling of a name. In some cases this writer had
to make a choice, hopefully the correct one.
