About Bramble Bunny At first glance this children's book looks like any other entertaining animal story with photos. But this little rabbit is created to fulfill a desperate need; a need that the author has observed through the thirty years of experience working with very young children as a Nursery Coordinator and teacher, Nature teacher in preschool, baby-sitter and with my own children and grandchildren. A very young child often has more fears and worries than adults would imagine, and yet has few communicative skills to vocalize any of the worries. In today's environment, with exhausted working parents or care-givers, crazy schedules and never ending television, the one to four year old child may never get any real conversational contact with the important people in his/her life. Even worse, the extremely important warm, loving physical contact may be lacking. This computer book can be an antidote for both problems if used by parents/caregivers as a bridge to allow their child a chance to discuss the worries and fears and feel safe and secure while learning. The parent/caregiver can also use the rabbit's influence to reinforce their own suggestions and rules. The quiet, gentle nature of the photographs used in the illustrations characterize Bramble Bunny as an excellent bedtime or quiet time story. In this computer book, the little rabbit has experiences familiar to a child. She has to deal with sibling jealousy, personal hygiene, naptime, friends, anger, prejudice, fear and food choices. Each of her adventures end with questions, and with those questions a caring parent or caregiver can generate meaningful and revealing dialogue with their one to four year old child. Bramble Bunny is here to help! |
